Former Portsmouth striker believes Chaplin can thrive at Coventry
Marc McNulty believes Conor Chaplin can thrive at Coventry City.Â
The ex-Pompey loanee feels Sky Blues boss Mark Robins will bring the best out of his former Fratton Park team-mate.
The striker has become frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities at Pompey and seeks a fresh start.
McNulty played alongside Chaplin when he was on loan at Fratton Park from Sheffield United during the 2016-17 campaign.
The Scot netted 28 goals for Coventry last season before departing for Championship outfit Reading earlier this summer.
Chaplin is the marksman Robins has identified to fill McNulty'˜s boots at the Sky Blues.
And McNulty has insisted the Worthing talent '“Â who he remains in touch with '“Â can be a hit at the Ricoh Arena.Â
He told the Coventry Telegraph: '˜I worked with Conor at Portsmouth and have stayed in touch ever since!
'˜He's a great lad with an amazing attitude. He always wants to learn.
'˜He's a great all-round player that the fans will love!
'˜His work-rate is outstanding and I have no doubt he will bring goals to the team.
'˜He just needs a regular game and working with someone like Mark Robins will bring out the best in him like it did me.'
