A disappointing day then?

Let’s just say the highlight of my trip was the meal at The Walnut Tree before the game.

The pub was 10 miles from the ground and I had a delicious lasagne, while my partner Sue had chicken. Very nice.

As for the match, I was very disappointed with the team, it was very, very poor.

We’ve had two shots on target – both coming from Gary Roberts – created nothing and went sideways. We never looked up for it.

Their manager did his homework on our full-backs to shut them down and deserves credit for that. We just weren’t good enough.

Is this team ready to get promoted this season?

What people have got to realise is that it took Bradford City six seasons to get out of League Two, while Plymouth have been in this league for a while.

It can take a while, you have to build a team gradually and already we have seen a hell of an improvement on last year.

We are not the finished article, it may take another season but the fans have to bear with us.

Do we want to go up like Shrewsbury and struggle against relegation, being a yo-yo club?

If we miss out this year we will be stronger the next, Paul Cook has to be given time.

So Adam Webster was your man of the match then?

Definitely, he was solid at the back, held things together and came forward when he had to.

Webster has done excellently since coming into the side as a regular.

You can see him developing and coming on in leaps and bounds, he has become more aware and streetwise.

It is only a matter of time before big clubs will come in for him, let’s just hope he doesn’t have his head turned.

You look at Jed Wallace and it hasn’t really worked out for him so far, he has gone back to League One on loan at Millwall, a level we already knew he could play at.

What did you make of Christian Burgess’ sending off?

It was brainless, he should apologise to his team-mates. I cannot believe he got the first booking seconds after being warned by the referee.

Thankfully we still managed to get a point.
