Gaffer: Millwall loanee deserves a Portsmouth recall

AFC Wimbledon is always a tough place to go, while I like how they've created a new club and moved up the leagues so quickly.

But it's a game I think we can win, bouncing back first time from Gillingham to go on another run. We cannot linger after that defeat.

Certainly I'm hoping we can win after flying over from Norway to watch my first Pompey game of the season!

I moved over there in April with my girlfriend, Filje, but remain a member of the London Pompey Supporters' Club and managed to get a ticket for Saturday's game through them.

I have family in Kingston, so am really looking forward to the trip. Normally I watch us through iFollow.

There are a few injuries at present, but I would like us to keep the system we use away from home, we seem more solid on our travels at present.

Obviously the left side is going to be a problem for this match, so perhaps Jamal Lowe could be shifted over there, with Gareth Evans coming in on the right and Joe Mason operating in the number 10 role.

I would also replace Ben Close for Ben Thompson in a holding-midfield spot.

When he came on against Gillingham he was our most positive player, driving forward and keeping possession.

It says a lot when the half-time substitute was man of the match. Well, he was in my eyes, I know others will think differently.

He had a fantastic debut against Oxford United, but has been in and out since. I know Close has done well, but Thompson really changed the game when he came on last weekend.

He gives us more attacking impetus and runs with the ball so well '“ so let's chuck him in and see what he does.

And if we get a penalty, let's not give it to Mason this time. I'm not a fan of the Checkatrade Trophy, maybe he isn't either!
