Baffins fight back to earn win in FA Vase

BAFFINS Milton Rovers came from behind to win 3-2 against Bournemouth Poppies in the FA Vase.

Rovers were awarded a penalty in the 18th minute when Jason Parish was brought down inside the box by Charlie Langstone.

Ashton Leigh should have given the home side the lead but he could only find the base of the post with his spot-kick.

To make matters worse, the visitors took the lead in the 28th minute.

Stephan Neronski out-paced the home defence before firing low past goalkeeper Tony Male.

Ten minutes later, Neronski doubled the visitors' lead when he cut inside from the wing and unleashed a low, unstoppable drive into the back of the net.

Rovers were given a lifeline just before the break.

The hosts were awarded their second penalty of the game when Sam Cornish was brought down after breaking through to meet a cross from Robbie Taw.

Cornish dusted himself down, stepped up and rifled home the resulting spot-kick in the 43rd minute.

The sides were level with just two minutes of the second half gone.

Taw crossed deep to the far post and Callum Dart flicked the ball over his marker before volleying home, riffling past Poppies goalkeeper Sam Jones.

Man-of-the-match Jason Parish sealed the tie in the 61st-minute.

Parishraced clear, brought the ball under control and rifled past Jones from an acute angle. 

To make matters worse for the visitors they were reduced to 10 men in the 82nd minute.

Ron Croft was shown a straight red card for his nasty challenge on Dart.Â
