Player boss Craig McAllister then saw his header hit the crossbar before the Southern League division one visitors regained the lead three minutes before half-time.

Borough could find no way back in the second half.

McAllister said: '˜I'm gutted for everyone at the club because it would have been good to have a run in the FA Trophy.

'˜But it is an opportunity we have let slip by us.

'˜It wasn't through a lack of effort but I think we could have been out there all night and probably not scored.

'˜We created good opportunities which we didn't take.

'˜We've been critical of our defending recently. Maybe the second goal was bit of a soft one.

'˜But we have to be critical of the forward players including myself, because I could have had two or three goals.

'˜There were great patterns of play at times and our players looked like they wanted to win.

'˜Despite the amount of ball we had, especially in the second half, we just could not get that equalising goal.

'˜It was a bad day at the office for the strikers.'
