Matt Tubbs' double and Ryan Pennery's late penalty did not prove enough for Craig McAllister's side at Privett Park.

The first chance of the game fell to Borough when Tony Lee's header at the back post narrowly missed the target.

On 13 minutes Tubbs produced a superb piece of skill to beat two defenders before crashing a shot wide.

But the former Pompey striker soon found his range. He fired the hosts into the lead four minutes later when rifling a low shot into the bottom right-hand corner.

However, Gosport could only held onto their lead for seven minutes.

Blackfield won a corner which Borough failed to clear and Charlie Urry bundled the ball over the line to equalise.

The visitors had their tails up and soon went in front.

Former Pompey Academy skipper Matt Mayes was making his debut for Blackfield and on 36 minutes his superb shot found the top corner of Mark Childs' net.

And things got worse for McAllister's side two minutes before half-time when Own Fee's strike extended Blackfield's advantage.

Gosport came out fighting after the break and got themselves back into the tie through Tubbs' second of the game in the 67th minute.

But the away side swiftly regained their two-goal lead seven minutes later when Urry doubled his tally.
