Gosport Borough looking to stop rot with new signings

The defeat sent Borough sliding into the bottom half of the Southern League premier division south.

They were also guilty again of conceding sloppy goals and McAllister is set to act.

He will look at moves in the transfer market.

The Gosport boss said: '˜I am looking at maybe bringing in one or two signings.

'˜We need a bigger physical presence and a bit more experience.

'˜At the moment we are lacking that a little bit.

'˜The players we have are good enough they just need a bit more organising.

'˜Joe Byrne is a leader for us but he needs to have a little more help alongside him.

'˜Once we stop giving away these silly goals then we will be okay.

'˜At the moment we keep making the same mistakes and that isn't good enough.

'˜We can't keep having to score three or four goals to win a game.'

After Borough missed some early chances the home side showed them how it was done.

They took the lead with their first opportunity after eight minutes following a neat move.

Borough fell further behind seven minutes into the second half, leaving them a mountain to climb.

McAllister had a goal disallowed for offside and further chances fell to Ryan Pennery and Rob Flooks.

The Casuals wrapped up the game with a third goal six minutes from time.

Player-coach Matt Tubbs pulled a goal back five minutes from the end but it was merely a consolation for struggling Borough.

McAllister added: '˜We started the game well and got onto the front foot quickly.

'˜If we had been able to make our early chances count then it might have been different.

'˜Nine times out of 10 Ryan Pennery nets the sort of chance he had.

'˜But you can't expect him to do it all the time.

'˜We are a young team and if we get our noses in front then it makes all the difference.'

Bognor were without a game as scheduled opponents Corinthian Casuals were involved in an FA Cup replay against St Albans City.
