Borough suffered a disappointing 3-2 home defeat against previously winless Walton Casuals in midweek.

Manager Shaun Gale admitted defensive errors and a failure to convert a catalogue of chances led to the defeat.

He is encouraging an expansive brand of football and doesn't intend to change the approach at Imber Court.

'We mustn't dwell on the defeat but at the same time learn some lessons from it,' he said.

'I am not going to change our brand of football, but just need to tinker with a few things.

'It is about being aggressive at the right times and in the right areas of the pitch.

'We were far too open at the start against Walton and shot ourselves in the foot.

'Going forward with the ball we were fantastic, but not so good when we didn't have possession.

'On the pitch at the end we had just four senior players.

'All the rest were 19, 20,and 21 year olds and when you play a lot of youngsters those things happen.

'I am not going to change the approach because the way forward is with youngsters.

'We are very much a work in progress and will keep working until we get where we want to be.

'I was disappointed to lose but not in the way we played.

'We need to tinker with it a little and make it harder for teams to score against us.'

London-based striker Elliott Charles has left Privett Park, citing travelling reasons.

'It was taking Elliott three hours to get to us,' said Gale.

'It meant that he couldn't train regularly and we just couldn't make it work.

'It is a shame because I have known Elliott a long time and he is a great lad.

'He was a big presence for us and will be missed.'

Central defender Jordan Rose is a doubt with a groin strain.

He was replaced in the first half against Walton by ex-Portsmouth defender Matt Casey.

Mike Carter and Josh Huggins remain doubtful, though Theo Lewis returned on the bench in midweek.

'We must look to go to Met Police and not get beat,' said Gale.

'I expect us to play our normal game but be a bit more selective about how and when we do it.'
