Manager Shaun Gale is hoping that Portsmouth pair Gerard Storey and Eoin Teggart will be available to feature again.

Both played in Borough's 1-0 home win against the Hawks on Tuesday and Gale hasn't ruled out taking them on board.

'Both played because we were a bit light on numbers,' he revealed.

'They are two good young players who need to play more men's football.

'Against the Hawks they played well and it is something we might pursue and see where we get with it.'

Pompey defender Haji Mnoga also played but Gale feels it is doubtful Kenny Jackett will let him return again.

'Haji was fantastic and a different class,' said Gale.

'He played because Pompey wanted him to have 90 minutes and there is a good relationship between the two clubs.

'He is a great lad and I would love to get him in our team.

'However, he is close to their first team and it is unlikely that he will come to us.'

Match-winner Elliott Charles is another player Gale is looking at.

Charles struck in the 36th minute, poking home a Bradley Tarbuck cross.

Gale admits Charles - who he once brought in on loan during his time in charge at Hawks - is the sort of big target man he is looking for.

'I have known Elliott from a long way back, since his Barnet days,' said Gale.

'The problem is he lives and works in north London and that is a six-hour round trip.

'On the pitch he would give us a focal point and someone the likes of Matt Paterson, Dan Wooden and Theo Lewis can play off.

'He has agreed to play and I am trying to arrange a deal that works for both him and us.'

Charles, 30, has played for many non-league clubs, his latest being Wealdstone and Hendon. He did not play for anyone in 2019/20.

Borough go into their final friendly with a few injury worries - Jordan Rose, Mike Carter, Tarbuck, Henry Launder and Paterson are all doubts.

Bognor are hoping Pompey allow youngsters Alfie Stanley and Joe Hancott to join them on loan and help them mount another Isthmian premier promotion campaign.

Striker Stanley was in the Bognor squad for last Friday’s 4-2 friendly win at Chichester City, and scored their second goal, while left-back Hancott spent time on loan at Bognor last season before picking up a knee injury.

Ex-Baffins pair Ashton Leigh and Jason Parish and Jake Flannigan – released by the Hawks in the summer – all miss the trip to Privett Park with hamstring injuries.

Rocks skipper Harvey Whyte may also be absent following the death of his father, former Bognor favourite Dallas.
