Gosport's woes continue... Hawks draw with league leaders

Alex Pike’s side went in at half-time with the scoreline at 1-1 thanks to a goal from Brett Poate.

But Gosport conceded two goals in the second half.

Meanwhile in the Ryman Premier, the Hawks had to settle for a 0-0 draw against league leaders Leiston at Westleigh Park.

The home side dominated the contest from start to finish but couldn’t find a way to break the deadlock.

Even when Leiston were reduced to ten men for the final 23 minutes the Hawks failed to make it count.

Elsewhere in the league, Bognor lost 2-1 away to Lowestoft and now sit in third in the table.

Petersfield came off second best in a clash between two sides stuck in the bottom four of the table.

They lost 3-1 on the road against Kidlington.

In the Wessex League, AFC Portchester won 4-2 at home to Fareham Town while Moneyfields lost 1-0 at home to Hamworthy United.

Meanwhile, Horndean – away to Horsham YMCA in the FA Vase first round – lost 3-2 to Horsham after extra-time. The game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes.
