Harry Redknapp spills the beans on Portsmouth's FA Cup safari trip on I'm a Celebrity 2018
FORMER Pompey manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that a safari trip with Pompey's FA Cup winning squad wasn't all that popular with some of the players.
Redknapp, who is currently starring in ITV's I'm a Celebrity'¦Â Get Me Out Of Here!, spoke to fellow contestant James McVey about the team's visit to a South African safari.
While the ex-Pompey boss seemed to enjoy the trip, he explained a few of the players were slightly less enthusiastic than him.
He said: '˜That was a great team I had there. I had a team of African players and we went to South Africa on a safari.
'˜The guy in charge said to me we would be up at 5:30am '“Â we had lovely coffee, cake and then on the jeeps for 6am.
'˜Then the players came up to me and said 'Gaffer, we are from Africa. We have seen elephants, we have seen lions, we don't want to get up at 5:30!'
Pompey won the FA Cup under Harry Redknapp back in 2008 '“ with players such as Nwankwo Kanu, John Utaka and Sulley Muntari in the starting XI.
