Hawks boss: Emotions got the better of me after Solihull loss

The boss put his foot clean through the Westleigh Park dugout following Adi Yussuf's 94th-minute strike to deliver the visitors a 1-0 victory.

It was cruel on the Hawks and condemned them to a third successive National League home loss.

The hosts were the better team and should have won but they once again came away empty-handed.

Bradbury was pleased with his side's performance and felt the Hawks did not deserve to suffer a defeat.

The manager said: '˜I have nothing but praise for the players because I thought it was one of our best performances.

'˜When their goal went in I just kicked a hole in our dugout.

'˜I don't normally do things like that but sometimes emotions take over.

'˜It can be a very cruel game.

'˜Watching the game you would have thought that we were the team in the top six.

'˜We deserved to take all three points but ended up with nothing.

'˜I can't fault the players' attitude and application.

'˜We just need to keep doing what we are doing and eventually our luck will change.

'˜I have told them to keep believing.'

Solihull started with the confidence of a side that had won their past three games without conceding a goal.

But it was the Hawks who had the best goalscoring opportunity in a closely-fought first half.

A good move down the left saw the ball transferred across to Dan Strugnell '“ who replaced the injured Rory Williams '“ on the opposite flank.

The substitute advanced into the area and fired in a fierce drive which Moors goalkeeper Ryan Boot could only push the ball up in the air.

Andreas Robinson got above his defender and sent in a downward header towards goal but his effort was hooked off the line.

The Hawks had an escape after half-time when a low Jamie Reckord shot bounced out off the inside of the post.

For most of the second period, however, it was the home side pushing forward and putting Moors under increasing pressure.

But Bradbury's men failed to break the deadlock and were dealt a sucker punch four minutes into stoppage-time. 

Goalkeeper Ben Dudzinski did well to push a close-range shot onto the post.

The ball bounced out straight to Moors substitute Adil Yusuf, though, and he trickled his effort into the net. 

It was a hammer blow to the Hawks and they remain in the National League relegation zone.
