Hawks cut deficit on leaders Bognor to point after win

THE Hawks kept their Ryman League premier division title bid bubbling with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Dulwich Hamlet at Westleigh Park.

Second-half goals from Theo Lewis and Jason Prior, a penalty, helped them cut the deficit on leaders Bognor to one point.

The Rocks went 1-0 down at Enfield Town in the 31st minute and failed to respond. Karl Oliyide gave the home side the lead and that was enough to give them all three points.

Elsewhere, Wessex League premier division leaders Moneyfields also failed to win – losing 2-1 at Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

Dan Simmonds equalised for the visitors in the second half but Bemerton pulled ahead with the end of the game approaching.

Horndean won 3-0 at home against Fawley. Connor Duffin scored a second-half hat-trick for the Deans.

Two late goals gave Fareham Town a 2-1 win in their match at Newport.

In division one, Baffins Milton Rovers lost 2-0 in their away game against Ringwood Town.

A late Brendan Agnew goal was nothing but a consolation for United Services who lost 2-1 at home to Downton.

Matt Clenahan gave Downton the lead after scoring an own goal.

In National League south, Gosport Borough shared the points with Weston-super-Mare after the game finished 1-1.

Petersfield were thrashed 7-0 by promotion-chasing AFC Dunstable on another dismal afternoon at Love Lane.

The visitors scored five goals in the first half of the Southern League central division one match.
