Away form gives Hawks confidence for Wrexham trip

Lee Bradbury knows the Hawks need another big away performance as they make their first-ever visit to Wrexham's Racecourse Ground on Saturday (3pm).

Wrexham are unbeaten at home and fourth in the Vanarama National League.

Bradbury, however, can take encouragement from recent performances on the road.

They came away from Ebbsfleet United and Barnet with a share of the spoils.

Before that they pushed the then league-leaders Harrogate Town close only suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat.

He is boosted by the availability of two key players in Brian Stock after suspension and Paul Robinson from injury.

Bradbury accepts it is a tough ask but insists they won't be going there with a damage limitation mentality.

He said: '˜We will be aiming to frustrate them, cause them problems and try to win the game.

'˜They will have a big crowd getting behind them.

'˜That means all the pressure will be on them and we can go and play with a sense of freedom. No-one expects us to get a result there.

'˜We will have to be on our game from the start because they showed against Ebbsfleet just how clinical they can be.

'˜In that game they scored four goals before half-time.

'˜The longer we keep a clean sheet, however, the more their crowd will get on their backs.

'˜We have to try to use that to our advantage.

'˜I have been pleased with our recent performances and the one against Solihull was probably our best of the season.'

Having Stock and Paul Robinson back will greatly strengthen the Hawks.

Both players are vastly experienced and have played in front of large crowds for most of their career.

They will have an important role to play helping the younger players cope.

'˜For two players who have been in the game so long they are fantastic people to have around,' added Bradbury.

'˜They continue to have high expectations of themselves and the other players around them.

'˜I know it won't be easy but we need to start picking up points.'

With Rory Williams still out due to a hamstring injury, Bradley Tarbuck is likely to continue to deputise and has agreed a new two-year contract.

He has been in excellent form with his best display of the season last time out.

The injury to Williams is a big blow but Tarbuck will be looking to make the most of his opportunity to build on his impressive performance.

Midfielders Wes Fogden and Mike Carter remain out.

Fogden has returned to training but Carter is waiting for the results of an ankle scan.
