LEE Bradbury admitted the Hawks face a big fight to stay in the National League.

A second-half goal proved enough to condemn the Hawks to a fourth successive home defeat.

Steve Rigg's header from a corner earned Gateshead a 1-0 win at Westleigh Park.

It means the Hawks remain in the bottom four after winning just two of their opening 15 league games.

Bradbury was disappointed by another defeat.

He said: ‘We have been taught another harsh lesson.

‘Our goalkeeper has hardly had a save to make and our opponents score from one set piece. That is disappointing.

‘Gateshead got their noses in front and then did a professional job on us.

‘I thought we were the better side but again we end up with nothing to show for it.

‘We know that we have a fight on our hands to stay in this league but we knew that from the start.

‘We have to start winning games between now and Christmas.'
