Henderson frustrated to miss out on clean sheet

The Blues’ four-game unbeaten run came to an end as they went down to a 1-0 loss at The Den yesterday.

Henderson made some fine stops to keep Michael Appleton’s men in the game.

The 23-year-old denied Liam Feeney on the stroke of half-time and then foiled Brian Howard’s ferocious free-kick in the second-half.

He was finally beaten with nine minutes remaining by Dany N’Guessan, leaving the Irishman a hugely frustrated figure.

Henderson said: ‘It looked like it was going to be a game we would get a point from.

‘There were a few saves I made and I thought I would get a clean sheet.

‘So to concede how we did was devastating. We should have got a point.

‘We didn’t do enough to win the game because we didn’t test their keeper once.

‘It had a draw written all over it but it wasn’t to be.

‘I had to make two saves but that was my job.

‘I thought we could have nicked a point, so to come away with nothing is frustrating to say the least.’

However, Henderson reckons the Blues will still be confident heading to Leicester on New Year’s Eve.

‘Going to Burnley and playing how we did meant we came into the game with confidence,’ he said.

‘We’ve gone about it in the right way defensively until the 82nd minute.

‘We can go to Leicester and enjoy ourselves, though.

‘The pitch up there is decent. It was rubbish at Millwall.

‘Both teams couldn’t play decent football and it made for a scrappy game.’
