How fans reacted to Portsmouth's defeat against Gillingham

The Blues lost 2-0 against Gillingham at Fratton Park this afternoon.

Kenny Jackett said his side failed to make chances count.

Strange we struggle against the lower teams, and at home you would think they would be putting in a good show for passionate supporters. Not a woeful display like today

Very poor but the warning signs have been there for weeks now, we still can't manage a game. To concede a second goal seconds before half time was criminal.

We need a midfield playmaker with a bit of nous who can bring people in to play with some idea how to break down a defence, mind you if we keep giving away sloppy goals like we did today it won't make any difference.

Just glad Burgess didn't play otherwise it would have been all his fault. Surely these players know they are playing in League One and you have to fight for the right to play. They aren't good enough to be complacent, but clearly some don't.

I asked Mark Catlin why we never leave a player up at corners and free kicks! That's why we conceded the first goal. It came straight back in to the box.

His answer by the way was that every manager operates differently. On another front, we could not hit the target with countless shots flying over the bar.

To be honest, it's been coming based on Pompey's performances. Other teams seem to want it more and get the second ball all the time.

Hopefully it's the kick up the backside we need and we up our game against supposed lower teams. Their manager said they would attack, so did Kenny Jackett but we never got going apart from 10 minutes at the start of the second half. Onwards now though.

Bad day at the office all round. Thought Pitman was anonymous and will never understand why there's never a player up near the halfway line when we are defending a corner for a potential quick break. Anyway, still top.

Tom Haustead

We were poor and it was cold and wet, not a great afternoon. Losing our streak is of course disappointing but it was always going to happen at some stage I guess and in a way now it is out of the way it may actually help not having to defend the unbeaten record. 

Home form now becoming more of a concern. That's three home games in a row we have been behind in and finally it told. I fancy us to get back to winning ways next Saturday but our next home game will be a biggie and there will be a nervous atmosphere from the start.

Still top and still by three points and I think come tomorrow when the disappointment has softened most people will still be left feeling optimistic
