He featured 20 times in all competitions and signed a new two-year deal in June.

The left-back has slipped down the pecking order since Lee Brown arrived at Fratton Park, however.

The former Bristol Rovers man has started every league game for Jackett's leaders.

Haunstrup admits he's not happy with his current Blues role.

But Jackett has ensured the Waterlooville ace doesn't feel too far away from a starting spot by speaking to him on a regular basis.

'˜It has been frustrating for me,' said Haunstrup.

'˜Obviously I've been sitting on the bench and any lad that says they're completely happy is lying '“ you want to be playing.

'˜But the team is doing well at the moment and it's my job to be ready when called upon.

'˜The gaffer has been good to me, to be fair.

'˜He's been talking to me and making sure that I'm alright.

'˜With my wrist injury, he was there for me.

'˜He's said I am still around it and, to be fair, I have been having been on the bench for most of the season.

'˜Lee's been good in a good team and the lads are doing well.

'˜When the gaffer needs me then I've got to be ready.'
