The Blues entertain Walsall at PO4 tomorrow night, with their last League One outing on home soil being the 2-2 draw with Burton on October 23.

Since then Kenny Jackett's side have played their past three league games on the road '“ their latest being Saturday's 2-1 win against Scunthorpe at Fratton Park.

During that time Pompey have stayed unbeaten on their travels and maintained a four-point lead at the top of the table, with Sunderland now their nearest rivals.

Their recent home form, however, has failed to meet those impressive heights, with the Blues enjoying one win in their past five Fratton Park appearances.

Jackett is keen to rectify that with an impressive performance against an 11th-placed  Walsall team who held Sunderland to a 2-2 on Saturday.

And the Blues boss hopes that can then get the Fratton faithful in high spirits as he targets another vital three points in the race for the League One title.

'They (Walsall) could have beaten Sunderland quite easily, and we know that.

'˜They recruited quite well in the summer, improved a lot since last season and will have their own aspirations to get into the top six.

'From what they've done so far, you feel they're capable, so there's no way we're going to be underestimating them.

'But, similarly, it's our home game and we want to put on a really good show and make sure our performance level is at maximum to get that crowd behind us, which can then ultimately drive us on towards another three points.'
