The striker is currently out on loan at National League outfit Aldershot – and will remain at the Recreation Ground for the rest of the season.

The Blues currently have top scorer Brett Pitman out with a hamstring problem.

Meanwhile, Oli Hawkins limped out of Saturday’s defeat to Blackpool with a knee complaint – although Kenny Jackett expects him to be back for the clash at Bradford this weekend.

Nevertheless, if the former Dagenham & Redbridge is ruled out of the trip to Valley Parade, Kabamba will not be able to be called back to Fratton Park.

Jackett said: ‘There’s not a possibility.

‘The agreement is he stays at Aldershot for the rest of this season.

‘There’s not a recall clause in there so there’s not a possibility.’

Kabamba is presently serving his second loan spell of the season.

He spent the first half of the campaign at League Two side Colchester – but returned to Pompey early as a result of a lack of game time.

The former Hampton & Richmond striker then moved to Aldershot last month.

He’s scored one goal in six appearances to date for Gary Waddock’s side.

However, Kabamba wasn’t included in the Shots’ 2-2 draw at Wrexham on Saturday.

Jackett believes he must have picked up a slight injury as Aldershot only named a 14-man squad.

‘He must have picked up a niggle,’ added Pompey’s boss.

‘We’ve been watching him the time he’s been there.

‘The game before (against Bromley) he came off on 56 minutes and he didn’t seem like he was injured.

‘Even on Saturday you could see they didn’t have the full complement of substitutes for their game.

‘As a senior player he would have been at least a substitute, so it looks like he’s picked up an injury.

‘He’s done okay there. I’ve spoken to Gary Waddock on a regular basis.

‘Nicke has to commit to Aldershot and try to get them promoted.

‘Gary has been pleased with him.

‘For myself looking at him, he has been in and out of the team there.

‘He’s had a couple of starts but he’s been a substitute coming on in recent weeks.

‘We will keep assessing him and, like our supporters, we want to see him doing well and scoring goals.’
