Pompey played ever so well against a Peterborough side whose style of play was direct.

I was actually quite surprised by how direct they were. Siriki Dembele is a very good player and they possibly don't use him as much as they should '“ maybe that will change as the season goes on.

The boys up top again played well and Oli Hawkins deserves a big thumbs up.

It was a big test for him against two big centre-halves and I see an improvement in the striker every week.

The end product still needs to be worked on. I loved the way he pulled off his marker to get onto crosses in the first half but just didn't hit the target.

However, with his goal he headed it into the ground and it was great for him. Hopefully it will boost his confidence and he did fantastically for the second goal.

From then, we were never really in any danger. You're always going to drop a bit deep and when the seven minutes stoppage-time went up it roused the crowd.

I was disappointed Craig MacGillivray didn't get a clean sheet but even after Peterborough's goal I was still confident.

The Pompey keeper wasn't overly worked. He made a few good takes and one important save in the first half at an important time.

The lads were hard-working to a man and put their bodies on the line to the second balls Peterborough were working off.

Both Christian Burgess and Matt Clarke were rock solid.

Christian obviously got a bit of stick after his mistake against Shrewsbury ad the only way you can silence them is by putting in a good performance '“ he did that at London Road

Ronan Curtis obviously gets all the plaudits but you've got to look defensively how well we have done '“ it's been the hallmark of the season so far.

You don't want to get carried away but the Blues do look a force. They're still unbeaten and beaten the side who were at the top.

I was very impressed by the performance and the lads  answered a few questions after the Shrewsbury draw.

Pompey play Wycombe on Saturday and will try to make it difficult for the hosts at Fratton Park. It was a great result at Peterborough but now work towards another three points. '‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹'‹Â Â
