And it's certainly not ideal the speculation over his future is being played out publicly.

Unfortunately, these sorts of situations do arise in football and it's just one of those things.

I've seen Conor come through the ranks from a youngster and I've got a lot of time for him. I don't like to see him getting slaughtered on social media. I don't think he really deserves that.

It's a tough situation, but it's just of those things I'm afraid.

Back to the game at Doncaster, it was a match where we struggled in the first half but were better after the break. In the final reckoning, I feel a draw was about the right result.

It could easily have finished 2-2 with both keepers making some good saves. Their keeper made some good stops from Gareth Evans before being sent off and Craig MacGillivray made some important first-half blocks.

We came away from the match still unbeaten without being at our best, so that has to be seen as a positive.

We went there last season and were 2-0 down in no time. We look like we've learnt our lesson from then and are able to tough it out when we're not flowing freely.

Ben Close was important for us when he came on after the break.

He managed to break things up and settle it down after the interval.

He was definitely a more calming influence and offered something a little different to Ben Thompson. It was a similar story for Closey in the Luton game.

He will pass sideways compared to Thompson, who will probably be a little more expansive.

There's time for one and a time for the other. On this occasion it was Ben and the manager got it right.

We started a lot better in the second half and had a 15-20 minute period where we could've scored a couple.

After that we defended well, but it was a little disappointing we didn't threaten the makeshift keeper more after he went between the sticks.

Now we face Plymouth and I'd rather they'd not had their bums smacked by Peterborough on Saturday.
