Late winner sees Gosport take three points while Hawks progress in FA Trophy

A LATE goal by defender Joe Oastler gave Gosport Borough a thrilling 2-1 win in their National League South match at Hemel Hempstead today.

Borough were looking to share the points before Oastler’s header from two yards out gave them the victory in stoppage time.

Warren Bentley had put the away side ahead on 40 minutes before Jordan Parkes equalised on 56 minutes.

Meanwhile, Hawks have progressed to the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy after Jason Prior gave them the win in the 92nd minute away to Cirencester Town.

Alfie Rutherford put the Hawks ahead in the first half but the hosts levelled the scores midway through the second half.

Just when a replay looked certain Prior struck to send the Hawks through.

Bognor crashed out of the trophy after losing 4-1 away to Slough. They went down to 10-men in the first half after Darren Budd received a red card minutes after Ollie Pearce equalised for the Rocks from the penalty spot.

In the Wessex League, Hordean won 3-1 at home against Sholing while home side Moneyfields beat Andover Town 2-0. AFC Portchester were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Verwood Town.
