Leave Cook alone... we don't need to rebuild again

The fans have had their say following Pompey's shock 3-1 defeat at the hands of York last night.

I cannot believe people calling for Cook’s head, it truly astonishes me.

This is the best season we’ve had in years and we’re in with a really good shout of the play-offs. I for one would taken a play off spot at the start of the season.

Who know’s, we might even win it and if we don’t Cook should stay for at least another season.

What’s the alternative? Start all over again? Let’s take two steps forward ,one step back rather than one step forward, two steps back!

What Pompey need is stability and consistency – calling for a change of management will not solve the problems we have in my opinion and just create more turmoil.

We don’t need (another) fresh start in the new season (if we are still in League Two), no matter what Paul Cook said at the start of the season.

We need to allow him to build on what he has delivered so far. It’s been good, but clearly not good enough and he will be the first to admit that I’m sure.

Most of us realise we are not ready for any promotion afetr last night display. I doubt we will make the play-offs.

The players on Pompey’s books are not good enough to get promotion, Cook has problems all over the pitch in midfield, attack and defence.

York will be going out of the Football League shortly and on last night’s display Gosport Borough and Fareham Town would beat that lot.

That’s it from me, I haven’t got any more time to waste on them.

If this is our blip then it has been going on for a very long time.

Cook knows the score as he promised before the season started that not getting promotion would be failure.

I just hope he grows a backbone and leaves our fantastic young side to get promotion with a real manager who knows what he is doing.

Big-time Charlie’s turn up to take on second-worst team in the country and bottle it, big-time Charlie’s will drive around in their big flash cars without a care in the world.

While the hard-working supporters who gave up a day’s work for a wasted 560-mile round trip have to do some overtime to pay for it.

About some of our big-time charlies realise their playing for a League Two club.
