The Blues were held to a 1-1 stalemate at the Crown Stadium '“ meaning their lead at the top of the League One table was cut to two points.

Oli Hawkins opened the scoring on 62 minutes but Michael Ihiekwe equalised just two minutes later.

Kenny Jackett's side could have been out of sight in the first half-hour, though, as they dominated the game but couldn't make a breakthrough.

And although Stanley's Billy Kee had a penalty saved by Craig MacGillivray, Lowe felt Pompey had opportunities in the early stages to clinch an insurmountable lead against the play-off chasing hosts.

The winger said: '˜It is a good point.

'˜If you'd have said on Friday we'll come to Accrington and get a point we'd have taken it.

'˜But in the first half we could have definitely had more.

'˜They sharpened up a little bit in the second half and we were going uphill, which is a major factor.

'˜You can't play dominant football for 90 minutes, every team has their spell.

'˜But then again the second half was very scrappy and nobody had a spell.

'˜We had our chances in the first half to put it out of sight'
