The Privett Park side ended their four-game losing run with a 3-2 win against Poole Town on Tuesday.

McAllister was delighted with the commitment his troops displayed and insists a repeat at lowly Frome can earn them another three points.

The Borough boss believes his side can use their success against the Dolphins to kick-start their season.

'˜I'm really pleased for the players because they deserved it,' said McAllister.

'˜I've never ever questioned the players' effort but that was a so-called 'man's performance'.

'˜We kept asking for a response after recent defeats and against Poole they produced one.

'˜We showed some character coming back like that because we were very disappointed after last Saturday's defeat.

'˜We wanted the game to come quickly like this and we started well with good movement of the ball.

'Yes, we made hard work of it but we definitely deserved it.

'˜There was a belief and the players showed the fans they are a good side.

'˜But we've done nothing yet except get a win that is something to build on.

'˜I looked at the players in the dressing room after the game and asked them if they were tired.

'˜They all said 'yes' and I told them that's how they should feel after a game.

'˜They should give everything and that's what they did.

'Now we need to build from this and hopefully go on a bit of a winning run.'

After a turbulent few seasons, including several winding-up orders and managerial changes, there is now stability at Privett Park.

McAllister is determined to help Borough regain their National League South status they held previously.

The manager added: '˜We are desperate for this football club to do well because it has had so much bad press and we need to get it back to where it belongs.

'˜It will take time and patience which is difficult because we want success quickly '“ everyone does.'

'˜I am not expecting to win every week but if we keep performing like that, putting the effort in, then we will win more games than we lose.
