It meant that their Division 1 South trip to title challengers Frome Town on Saturday became a casualty of the coronavirus crisis.

Moneys’ home games with Sholing (Tuesday) and Willand Rovers (Saturday) have also been postponed.

Carter understood why the decision was made, but found it difficult to accept when other games took place around the country.

'I can see why they don't want large crowds gathering together,' he said.

'At most we only get 50 or 60 fans for our home games.

'Yet Dorking played the Hawks with 1,500 in their ground and that doesn't make any sense.

'It is strange when some leagues are allowed to play and others aren't.

'Surely the FA needed to make a decision applying to all the clubs?

'It should come from them, not the individual leagues

'I am expecting them to do that this week.

'It is difficult because whatever you do not everyone is going to be happy.

'Chances are things are not going to get any better soon.

'The only thing to do this season is to scrap it.'

Carter admits doing that would open up a whole different can of worms, and also recognises any extension to the season would create problems.

Moneyfields have a particular problem in that they have a re-development planned for the end of April.

Their clubhouse and changing room facilities are due to be bulldozed ahead of having a brand new facilities built.
