The club's secretary said: '˜It was a very pleasing result considering the weather and the opposition, who were a young and fit side.

'˜It was quite an historic game for us and it's quite special being involved in the Women's FA Cup.

'˜We get to play Southampton next week because they beat Winchester 2-0.

'˜We'll be facing our south-coast rivals and hopefully we can rally round and get a few more supporters.

'˜Considering it is a bank holiday weekend, Victorious Festival is on and the wet weather, 55 supporters through the door was quite good.

'˜The pitch was in good condition but you couldn't see much in front of you and when it's hammering it down you can hardly hear anyone calling you.

'˜The conditions were tough but both teams had to deal with it and both sets of players did well.'
