Moneyfields looking to make up for lost timeÂ

Because of various cup commitments, it is the Dover Road side's first league game for six weeks.

Dave Carter believes his side's position is a false one, however.

But the manager stressed it's crucial Moneyfields go on a winning streak after slipping down the table. 

He said: '˜We have played four or five games less than some of the teams above us. 

'˜That has caused us to drop behind.

'˜Our league position doesn't warrant where I feel we should be.

'˜Although cup runs are great, the league is our bread and butter.

'˜Our target between now and Christmas is a clear one.

'˜We have to get on a winning run and pick up as many points as we can.

'˜It is vital we start climbing the table and get ourselves up into a position challenging for the play-offs.

'˜That will set us up for the second half of the season.

'˜I am looking for us to pick up all three points at Mangotsfield, although it won't be easy.

'˜It is the sort of place where you have to go and grind out a result.

'˜If we want to win we have to go there and be prepared to battle.'

Striker Steve Hutchings is starting to reach full match fitness after returning from a 10-game suspension.

He provided further evidence of that with a goal in the 2-1 Russell-Cotes Cup win at Hythe & Dibden on Wednesday '“ his first since returning to action.

The visitors are without Joe Briggs and Louie Martin through injury, while Tyler Giddins is suspended for the trip to Mangotsfield.

Despite those setbacks, Carter is adamant his side can deliver a victory.

And the Moneyfields manager insists his troops should be challenging for a play-off spot this season.

He added: '˜I believe with the squad we have we should be challenging at least for the play-offs.

'˜We have done a lot of travelling already but picked up some good results on the road.

'˜Another one will start us heading back up in the right direction.'

A win would round off a great week for the club.
