DAVE CARTER believes Moneyfields have the ability to put their FA Trophy preliminary-round tie at Cinderford Town to bed by half-time on Saturday (3pm).

The Dover Road outfit delivered a superb performance to thrash Evesham United 5-1 in the last round.

Their opponents that day were top of the Southern League division one south at the time but were left stunned by Moneys' powerful display, taking a 3-0 lead into the interval.

Cinderford sit seven places above Moneyfields in the division and Carter is expecting a tough clash tomorrow.

But the manager is confident his side can deliver a victory.

He said: '˜We put Evesham to bed early, establishing a 3-0 lead by half-time. It would be nice to do the same to Cinderford. The ability is in our side to do it.

'˜I have been to Cinderford three or four times in recent years so know just how tough it will be.

'˜The good thing is other teams may look at our league position and underestimate us.

'˜Our last game in the league was in the middle of last month so we are definitely in cup mode.'

The visitors have been boosted by the return Steve Hutchings following a 10-match suspension.

Despite a poor disciplinary record, Carter feels the striker makes a difference.

The boss added: '˜When Steve is in the team, it seems to raise everyone else's game by 10 per cent.

'˜The other plus, of course, is he scores goals.'
