No Casuals arrangement in pre-season plans

The Surrey outfit recently posted a story on their website stating Guy Whittingham’s men had agreed to a July 27 fixture.

That would have been 24 hours before they face Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano at Fratton Park.

It is an agreement, however, denied by the Blues.

The News has been told by Pompey they were approached by the Ryman League division one club but nothing had been arranged.

In light of the apparent confusion, it seems there will definitely not now be a fixture between the sides.

Walton Casuals have since removed the initial claim from their website and replaced it with an updated statement.

It reads: ‘The club would like to confirm that at this stage the fixture scheduled for July 27 is unconfirmed, the clubs are involved in talks to see if this date is possible. Please keep checking here.’
