Gosport Borough have a score to settle with North Leigh in the Evostik Southern League division one south & west encounter at Privett Park tomorrow (3pm).
Borough were beaten in Oxfordshire in the reverse fixture – one of just two league defeats this season for Alex Pike’s men.
And the hosts will be fired up to gain revenge as they look to continue their good form.
Borough moved to within four points of the play-offs with a 1-0 win over Sholing on Tuesday.
Striker Justin Bennett grabbed the late winner.
And with three games in hand on the teams above them, another win would be a major boost heading into 2012.
‘We have been impressive at home for the past few seasons and, hopefully, we can make that advantage tell again,’ said Borough boss Pike.
‘If we win our games in hand, that will put us up to second or third in the league.
‘We have got a good team spirit and togetherness in the squad, with players prepared to battle for each other.
‘Some of the players can also boast the experience of playing at a higher level and have been there and done it.
‘That will be important between now and the end of the season.
‘This will be a difficult game, though.
‘North Leigh are dangerous going forward and compact at the back. Winning becomes a habit and breeds confidence and that is what we have been doing.’
Pike hopes to have veteran striker Steve Claridge back in the squad, along with Nathan Kirby, who has been missing through illness.
Pike added: ‘The Sholing game was every bit as tough as we knew it would be.
‘If we win all the rest of our games 1-0 I will be happy.’
