Gosport Borough have been handed a home tie with Braintree Town in the first round proper of the FA Trophy.

Alex Pike’s side will take on the Blue Square Bet premier division side at Privett Park on Saturday, December 10.

The fixture is Borough’s reward after goals from George Way and Justin Bennett earned the Southern League side a 2-1 victory over Dorchester Town on Saturday.

The Hawks, who face Weymouth in a replay tomorrow night at Westleigh Park, could face a potential south coast derby if they negotiate their way into the next round.

The winners of the Chippenham Town v Eastleigh replay, which will also be played tomorrow night, earn the right to travel to the Hawks.

Shaun Gale’s side have yet to face neighbours Eastleigh this season, but will welcome the opportunity to renew their rivalry against their Blue Square Bet South counterparts.
