Gosport Borough surrendered a lead to draw 1-1 with Eastbourne Borough at Privett Park this afternoon.

Matt Paterson gave them a third-minute advantage in the Vanarama Conference South battle only for Borough to hit back in second-half stoppage-time.

Eastbourne had seconds earlier missed a penalty before Mike Carter was dismissed for the home side.

The Hawks were also hit by a late blow as they lost 3-2 to Chelmsford City at Westleigh Park.

Having fought back twice with goals from Bradley Bubb and Josh Huggins, they suffered a first defeat in 10 games.

In the Ryman League, premier division Bognor beat Hampton & Richmond 3-0 thanks to a Jason Prior hat-trick.

Petersfield Town returned to the top of the Wessex League premier division with a 5-1 humbling of Verwood Town.

Andy Todd struck twice, while there were also goals for Jason Silver, Benny Reed and Will Essai.

Moneyfields were held to a 2-2 draw by Fawley at Dover Road.

Jack Lee put Miles Rutherford’s side in front after four minutes before Keiron Earl levelled.

Declan Seiden fired Moneys ahead after 75 minutes before Paul Green earned his side a point with 10 minutes left.
