Gosport Borough were held to a goalless draw by Frome Town as they dropped to 10th place in the Southern League premier division.
Alex Pike’s side were unable to find the breakthrough against a Frome side determined to frustrate their Privett Park hosts.
The draw is Borough’s second successive stalemate on home soil.
However, they extended their unbeaten league run to 13 matches with the point.
In the Wessex League premier division, Horndean suffered last-minute heartache as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Lymington Town at Five Heads Park.
The home side made the worst possible start, falling behind after only two minutes.
But Dan Hayes levelled matters with a 15th-minute penalty, after Nathan Paxton was fouled in the area.
Paxton then put Horndean in front on the half-hour mark after latching on to a long clearance.
The second half proved a scrappy affair and in the dying seconds a header looped over defender Ollie Warren and into the net.
AFC Portchester drew at home with lowly Romsey.
Blu Boam put Portchester ahead in the first five minutes, before Romsey levelled with their first attempt on goal before half-time.
Moneyfields slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Blackfield & Langley, while Hayling’s game against Downton was called off.
In the Ryman premier, former Hawks player Harvey Whyte scored in Bognor’s 3-1 win at Cray after making his move to Nyewood Lane permanent.
Ashley-Paul Robinson and James Crane also notched as the Rocks move up to fourth in the league table.
