GOSPORT BOROUGH are looking to continue their good form when they take on Christchurch tonight in the Hampshire Senior Cup (7.45pm).
Borough host Blue Square Bet South outfit Braintree Town on Saturday in the FA Trophy and see the Christchurch game at Privett Park as a chance to boost their preparations.
Alex Pike’s in-form side were without a game at the weekend, due to the postponement of their clash with Bideford.
Heavy rain in the west country left the Bideford pitch like a lake and the game was called off early doors.
‘Losing the game at the weekend was a blow but this will allow us to give some of our players coming back from injury some game time,’ said Borough assistant manager Mick Catlin.
‘This game gives us a chance to use our whole squad and this is a competition we want to do well in.
‘We are on a good run and want to win every game we play.
‘We have been struggling a bit with injuries but some of the squad players have come in and done exceptionally well.’
Borough will certainly not be taking Wessex League side Christchurch lightly.
Catlin added: ‘We will treat Christchurch with the utmost respect because we know they are a more-than-useful side.
‘They will come looking for our scalp so we will have to treat it in the right manner.
‘For us, it is an ideal opportunity to get players back out on the pitch and ticking over ahead of Saturday.’
Borough are hoping to include experienced defender Aaron Cook, who is recovering from a hamstring injury.
But Borough look set to be missing veteran striker Steve Claridge, who has a rib injury, which could take up to six weeks to heal.
Dan Wooden is also out due to injury.
