Gosport Borough’s Vanarama Conference South play-off chances all but ended with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of St Albans City at Privett Park.

A disastrous first half left Borough trailing 2-0 at half-time and all they could manage was a Matt Paterson goal 12 minutes from time.

Today’s result at Privett Park meant that the Hawks, who were not in Vanarama Conference South action, booked their place in the end-of-season play-offs.

Bognor were denied all three points by a last-gasp Leiston free-kick as their Ryman League premier division clash ended 2-2 at Nyewood Lane.

Gareth Heath put Leiston ahead at the interval before James Crane and Ollie Pearce looked to have won the game for the Rock, only for Joe Jefford to strike at the death.

Jack Salter-Vaile’s double ensured that AFC Portchester stretched their unbeaten run to nine games and remained in third place in the Wessex League premier division.

The Royals beat Brockenhurst 2-1, with the visitors reducing the arrears midway through the second half thanks to a debatable Tom Hill penalty.

A late Dean Harris goal was enough to see Baffins Milton Rovers walk away with all three points in a scrappy Hampshire Premier League affair at Hedge End Rangers.
