Gosport encouraged ahead of Redditch trip

Have your say

Gosport host neighbours Sholing in an appetising FA Trophy tie at Privett Park tomorrow (3pm).

There is little to choose between the two Southern League south & west sides.

‘It is always tough against Sholing,’ said Borough’s assistant boss Mick Catlin.

‘They have some good players with Kev Gibbons and Lee Wort a threat up front.

‘We have shown recently, though, that we have the character and quality to win important games.

‘In the last round we saw off Slough 3-0 when they arrived as favourites.

‘Again we will need all our players to turn up and put in a decent performance because there isn’t likely to be much in it.

‘It could boil down to who keeps there nerve on the day and who makes the least mistakes.

‘Justin Bennett is scoring again for us and we need to apply the pressure to create opportunities.

‘We must look to make home advantage count.’

Liam Sewell is in contention to replace James Taylor, who is getting married.

Nathan Ashmore – on loan from the Hawks for the season – is drafted in.

Gosport: Pryce, Ashmore, Molyneux, Jones G, Poate, Cook, Martin, Wylde, Wooden, Kirby, Ford, Jones I, Sewell, Bennett, Way, Woodward.
