Gosport Borough surged to a fifth consecutive Skrill South victory with a 3-1 win over Bath City at Privett Park.

Danny Smith gave Borough the lead, before the visitors levelled from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time.

Borough took charge with Dan Wooden and Sam Pearce goals in the second half, though, with City having goalkeeper Stuart Moore sent off to add to their woes.

AFC Portchester’s hopes of a top-five Wessex League premier finish all but disappeared as they crashed to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Alresford at Wicor Rec.

Warren Bentley and Dan Strange scored either side of half-time to effectively end the Royals’ slim play-off aspirations.

In the same division, a late Ashley Tattersall goal saw Fareham Town claim all three points in a thrilling 2-1 victory against Bournemouth Poppies at Cams Alders.

The Reds had earlier fallen behind to Liam Jacobs’ fifth-minute strike but were level at the interval thanks to Robbie Pitman’s header.

Play-off chasing Bognor answered the call from manager Jamie Howell for three points in the race for Ryman league premeir promotion, with a gutsy 2-1 win at rivals Maidstone.

Scott Chamberlain and substitute Dan Thompson were on target for the Rocks who held on for the win, despite late pressure from the hosts following Steve Watt’s goal.
