Fareham Town manager Matt Parr suffered one of the darkest days of his career with a 7-0 Wessex League premier division defeat by Petersfield Town at Cams Alders.
A one-sided first half saw the Rams blow their hosts away with six unanswered goals.
‘It was a bad day at the office for me personally and the club,’ said Parr.
‘It was always going to be difficult because half our team were suspended or unavailable.
‘Petersfield smashed us in the first half and showed why they are one of the title favourites.
‘We didn’t help ourselves by making a series of mistakes but you could see the difference in confidence of the two teams.
‘The second half was all about damage limitation and we showed a bit more pride.’
Andy Todd grabbed a first-half hat-trick with Ed Dryden and Alex Ward adding further goals.
Robbie Tambling completed the rout on 85 minutes to keep Town four points behind leaders Moneyfields with a game in hand.
