Gosport are gunning for double delight against Sholing this afternoon (3pm).

Borough welcome their derby rivals to Privett Park for a Southern League south & west clash.

Alex Pike’s men already boast a 1-0 FA Trophy win over the Southampton club.

And now the Gosport boss wants the league points.

‘I honestly believe we have the quality of players to win the league,’ said Pike.

‘If that is putting my players under pressure over Christmas then so be it.

‘If they can’t handle the pressure they shouldn’t be at the club.

‘This is a derby and will be all about who wants it the most on the day.

‘It will be all about passion and I know I won’t need to motivate my players for this one.

‘We have only been beaten once in our last 18 games.

‘And we are unbeaten in the league since the end of September.’

Borough’s only absentee is veteran striker Steve Claridge, who has work commitments.

Elsewhere, Fareham Town will have to put the shackles on GE Hamble dangerman Jamie Musselwhite if they are to gain much-needed Wessex League premier division points (7.45pm).

Musselwhite chalked up a hat-trick as his side beat Hayling 5-3 in their latest outing.

In Wessex league division one, AFC Portchester play host to an attractive fixture against Petersfield Town (3pm).
