The Hawks had to settle for a point from their long trip to Dover in Blue Square Bet South - despite leading for much of the afternoon through Wes Fogden’s goal.

Shaun Gale’s men led at the break but conceded an equaliser 14 minutes from time through Dover sub Donovan Simmonds.

The point leaves the Hawks 17th in the table.

Also having to settle for a draw were Gosport at Yate in the Southern League division one south and west.

An own goal put Borough ahead after just three minutes but they failed to build on their early momentum and the home side were level from the penalty spot before the break.

Gosport had a great chance to win it late on but it went begging.

In Ryman one south, goals by Jason Prior, Tim Bond, Luke Nightingale and Terry Dodd continued Bognor’s excellent start to the season.

Wessex Premier action included Horndean losing 2-1 at Christchurch despite taking the lead through Gary Austin.
