Three first-half strikes set the Hawks on their way to a confident 4-1 Skrill South win over Basingstoke at Westleigh Park.

Debut-making Alek Przespolewski put the home side in front after 15 minutes, before Scott Jones and Nic Ciardini added two in four minutes shortly before the break.

Although the Dragons hinted at a fightback with a 54th-minute Keze Ibe goal, Dennis Oli’s magnificent 66th-minute strike sealed the win for the home side.

In the Wessex League Premier division, Moneyfields slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Winchester City.

A third straight win looked on the cards for the home side when they took a first half-lead thanks to a Jack Raine goal.

But second-half efforts from the travelling side meant Moneys’ recent revival came to a stuttering end on home soil.

AFC Portchester exacted revenge on Horndean with a 1-0 win over their premier division rivals at Wicor Rec.

A Jamie Musselwhite goal did the damage for Graham Rix’s side, who exited the FA Cup at the hands of the Deans earlier in the season.

Also in the premier division, Matt Parr’s Fareham suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Blackfield & Langley.
