LEE BRADBURY has cherry-picked the talent he believes can inspire the Hawks’ Vanarama Conference South promotion push.
The former Bournemouth boss used his south coast connections to clinch the double signing of ex-Cherries players Brian Stock and Alan Connell yesterday.
The moves represent a major coup for the Westleigh Park club, with former Wales international Stock, 32, playing his part in Burnley’s Championship promotion-winning team last season.
Connell, 31, is also a proven goalscorer in English football’s lower leagues and arrives after failing to agree a deal with Grimsby Town.
Bradbury said: ‘I always want to evolve and try to improve, and with these two players in the squad, it’s certainly going to help us achieve better things.
‘We want to get into the play-offs this season, having missed out on the last day on goal difference last year.
‘This certainly will give us a big boost at this stage of the season.
‘Brian moved back to the area and knows a couple of the players and his availability came that way.
‘His experience will be invaluable in the middle of the pitch for us and it’s really exciting to get him on board.
‘I’ve played with Alan and he is a calming influence in front of goal.
‘If he gets a chance he more often than not takes it.’
Both Stock and Connell have signed till the end of the season and go straight into Bradbury’s squad for today’s game at Farnborough (3pm).
