Two late goals sent the Hawks spinning to a 3-1 defeat against Dartford at Prince’s Park this afternoon.

The visitors battled gamely throughout and took an early lead through Sam Pearce and then missed a penalty before the home side equalised midway through the first half.

The Hawks produced a brave defensive performance and held out until the last nine minutes when Dartford took control with two late strikes.

Shaun Gale’s side are just one point above the drop zone as their relegation fears increase.

Gosport returned home from the midlands with another three points after their Southern League division one south & west play-off campaign got a further boost at Halesowen.

Brett Poate, Justin Bennett and Liam Sewell netted for Alex Pike’s team in their 3-1 win.

Also 3-1 winners on the road were Bognor, who hold on to Ryman one south top spot after their victory at Chipstead.

Terry Dodd (2) and James Crane did the damage.

In the Wessex League premier division, Fareham took the lead away to leaders Winchester, only to lose 2-1 to a late goal.
