The Hawks gave their survival hopes another boost with a 2-1 victory over Bath City at Westleigh Park.

The home side trailed at the break after a below-par first-half performance but improved in the second half.

Leading goalscorer Ollie Palmer levelled, before skipper Ed Harris grabbed the winner to move to Hawks up to 12th in Blue Square Bet South.

Meanwhile, Gosport Borough moved into the semi-finals of the Russell-Cotes Cup with a 4-1 victory at Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

Borough took a 38th-minute lead through Sam Wilson and raced away with the tie after the break with further goals from Adam Wilde, Justin Bennett and Wilson.

In the Wessex League premier division, Hayling twice came from two goals down to beat 10-man New Milton.

Ami Rosario, Mike Turvey, Nathan Kirby and Jack Salter-Vaile were on target for the Humbugs.

Horndean put in a superb all-round team display to come away from Newport boasting a 4-0 triumph thanks to goals by Rob Lofters-Desport, Dan Hayes, Matt Andrew and captain Tommy Woodward.

Mat Burt grabbed a double as Fareham beat Fawley 2-1 at Cams Alders.

And AFC Portchester drew 1-1 at home to Lymington Town.
