Horndean had keeper Simon Howard to thank as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Lymington at Five Heads Park.
The keeper pulled off a spectacular save to deny the visitors from the penalty spot in the second half, denying them a vital win in the Wessex League premier division.
Lymington went ahead on 11 minutes through Dan Fox, before Hawks loanee Bobby Hopkinson levelled the scores from the penalty spot just before the half-hour mark.
The Deans hoped to add to the momentum gained in the second half but had to rely on keeper Howard to ensure they didn’t suffer defeat on home soil as the game finished all square.
Rob Tambling scored twice as Fareham were held to a 2-2 draw by Brading at Cams Alders.
Meanwhile, Moneyfields were 3-0 losers at the hands of Romsey Town and Hayling United lost 2-1 against bottom-of-the-table New Milton Town.
In the Ryman League division one, a Jason Prior penalty on 66 minutes and a Luke Nightingale goal one minute from time earned Bognor a 2-2 draw with leaders Dulwich Hamlet.
The result mean’s both sides remain unbeaten in the league this season.
