Horndean continued to enhance their reputation as the summer’s entertainers.
They followed up their 2-2 friendly draw with Gosport, with a six-goal thriller against Eastleigh.
The Friday night clash at Five Heads Park ended 3-3.
But Horndean led 3-1 against the inexperienced Eastleigh side, largely made up of youth-teamers and reserves.
The Eastleigh young guns, however, were determined to hit back.
They proved strong opposition for the Deans to bring an absorbing tussle to an end level.
Eastleigh drew first blood on 10 minutes through Ryan Lewis.
Horndean equalised on the stroke of half-time.
Nathan Paxton chased a huge clearance to beat keeper Gareth Shultze with a well-taken effort.
Early in the second half, Paxton scored a glorious second from long distance.
And powerful striker Chamal Fenelon came off the bench to blast a spectacular third.
But Eastleigh were not down and out.
They responded when striker Leron Plummer cut a path through to pull a goal back.
And to earn a draw, Plummer took full advantage of a tiring Horndean rearguard to go clear and stab home.
