Nick Watts struck a hat-trick to rob Hayling of a Wessex League premier division victory over GE Hamble at the College Ground last night.
The former Pompey youngster scored a second-half treble to snatch a point for the visitors.
His goals cancelled out a double from Jack Salter-Vaile and a Joe Richardson header.
Halying had charged out of the blocks at the College Ground.
And after Lee Tigwell twice went close, he teed up Salter-Vaile to bully his way through and open the scoring on 15 minutes.
After Aaron Kinchen had forced a save from Hamble keeper Ryan Gosney, Watts fired a long-range effort wide of the Hayling goal.
The hosts soon regained the initiative and after Alex Easton set up Tigwell to shoot over, Salter-Vaile crossed for Richardson to nod in for 2-0.
Easton was then denied by a quality save from Gosney before the break. And the keeper’s heroics were rewarded on 50 minutes when Watts reduced the deficit with a powerful cross-shot.
Salter-Vaile ran in a third for the Humbugs, only for Watts to double his own tally.
And then seconds before the final whistle, he struck again to net an undeserved draw.
