Moneyfields manager Miles Rutherford toasted a third-successive win as his side beat Blackford & Langley 1-0.

Warren Hunt’s 76th minute strike settled the contest.

Rutherford was delighted with his side and in particular keeper Dave Hook and stalwart Rob Evans.

‘The result was pleasing. We worked hard from the word go and fully deserved the win.

‘Dave Hook and Rob Evans were exceptional – as always.’

Former Moneyfields winger Glenn Knight was sent off early on, after receiving a second yellow card for a two-footed challenge on Bickram Singh.

Rutherford added: ‘It’s always tough for a player when he returns to his former club. He feels that he has a point to prove.

‘Some of the lads actually had bets on how long Glenn would last on the pitch. We said 30 minutes!’

Blackford and Langley boss, Louis Bell felt the midfielder was being ‘wound up’.
